The latest version of SpycerNode shared media storage allows broadcasters and content creators to secure media assets in a reliable way with high redundancy levels and high throughput, supporting post-production workflows as well as playout environments.

Backed by a comprehensive suite of tools, for production management and system control, Spycernode offers the highest level of Erasure Coding in media solutions. When combined with our patented Virtual Storage Access (VSA), SpycerNode provides true enterprise failover and uptime.

Ingest

Reliable, intuitive ingest reintroduces VTR capabilities

On display was our R&S VENICE media server, a powerful content delivery tool offering flexible and intuitive ingest, playout and more. Our latest software release 4.3 reintroduces the VTR (Video Tape Recorder) ingest feature, enabling you to easily transfer your magnetic tapes into the world of hard drives and files. We are also pleased to announce operating system upgrades and a collaboration with a new vendor, Squared Paper. Based in the United Kingdom, Squared Paper is a software systems integrator adept in the media and broadcast sector. Finally, this introduces the powerful VENICE S8 G3 platform, giving your workflows all the power you require for your production.

Playout

Intelligent Playout solutions

Our playout solutions Gallium & StreamMaster were also present, showing how we can provide you with different workflows to produce a unique solution for you in your environment. These playout workflows are brought together with the Gallium UI, unique in its ability to be manipulated to fit a broadcaster’s specific needs. Gallium & StreamMaster solutions are packed with unique features, allowing operations to use the rundown playlist to select preview functions including a composited junction preview. Also within the Gallium UI NDI streams can be viewed as confidence feeds from the producing StreamMaster. The Gallium UI ultimately allows unique designs for different operational needs and provides tools to give further confidence in what is being played out before it goes to air.

CLIPSTER

Mastering Excellence and showcasing a special upgrade offer

Additionally, our latest CLIPSTER 6 MK2 workstation was on display and highlighted a number of recent product improvements, including some dynamic firmware for our proprietary hardware-based JPEG 2000 acceleration offering a 100% increase in encoding/decoding speed. At the booth, visitors witnessed our latest support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision capabilities along with some new integrations to support the conversion of high dynamic range Dolby Vision content to SDR and DCP output. For existing customers, we shared some exciting news about a special upgrade offer to the new CLIPSTER 6 MK2 platform. Multiviewing

Flexible Multiviewing and Monitoring

Attracting much attention at our booth with its flexible screen layout, we demonstrated how PRISMON can be used to multiview and monitor a mixture of different signal types so that you can easily combine SDI signals with SMPTE2110 transport streams, different OTT flavors, or NDI signals all on a single multiviewer screen.

This year we set up a distributed system consisting of a server running at our machine room on site in Amsterdam with multiple systems running in a central demo room in another location in Hannover, Germany. Our MCC (Multiviewer Control Center) demonstrated how to use a single orchestration user interface to control the variety of systems. The SDM (Scalable Distributed Multiviewer) showed how to cluster multiple systems and share resources in a highly efficient way.

We also announced the integration between PRISMON and Gallium StreamMaster, our playout solution that allows automatic failover between main and backup by analyzing the MQTT output of PRISMON which allows business logic to decide when to switchover to a backup system. This is already attracting great interest from our customers throughout Europe where we have many leading national broadcasters adopting our playout, integrated playout, and Gallium automation.
