Increased networking of business and private communication provide ideal targets for eavesdroppers and spies. As a result there has been a dramatic increase in illegal attacks on telephone and data networks. To effectively protect the communication via Euro-ISDN we developed TopSec 703. The device is designed to protect the Euro-ISDN S0 port. TopSec 703 is simply connected between the terminal equipment and the Euro-ISDN connector, and encrypts all information transferred via Euro-ISDN.
Encryption is carried out separately for the two B channels. The device is easy to use. The appropriate transmission mode (plain or encrypted) is selected by adding a prefix code number to the telephone number. LEDs show the chosen transmission mode. TopSec 703 operates on a public key architecture with 1024 bits key length for key exchange. The useful data is encrypted by means of a symmetrical algorithms with a key length of 128 bits. For each connection established the 128-bit key is randomly determined from 1038 possibilities and erased as soon as the connection is terminated. This means data security of the highest level.
With the TopSec 703 information can be exchanged via Euro-ISDN between two subscribers without any risk. The device is designed to protect the Euro-ISDN S0 port. TopSec 703 is simply connected between the terminal equipment and the Euro-ISDN connector, and encrypts all information transferred via Euro-ISDN. The only prerequisite is that the called station must be equipped with a partner device from the TopSec family. Encryption is carried out separately for the two B channels.
