Rohde & Schwarz is an independent manufacturer of electronic test & measurement equipment and systems. Our Signal generators for example are at home in both the digital and the analog world, from DC well up into the microwave range. We make sure we are setting the standards for signal generation. Today our signal generators can already generate the analog or digital modulation modes as well as IQ modulaltion modes for tomorrow. Besides signal generation our product portfolio includes equipment for microwave generation, arbitrary waveform (ARB) generators and tracking generator families.
Our high-end Vector Signal Generator R&S SMU200A sets new standards in signal generation. This vector signal generator is able to compute complex signals from a signal source in realtime. In addition, the vector signal generator contains an arbitrary waveform generator (ARB) with a large memory depth, IQ modulation with 200 MHz RF bandwidth and an outstanding ACLR characteristics. Amplifiers of 3GPP base stations require very good ACLR performance. To test this feature, the ACLR characteristics of the signal generator must be better than those of the amplifier.
The Signal Generator Family R&S SMIQ for analog and digital modulation from Rohde & Schwarz offers solutions for today and tomorrow. The concept allows the generation of a digital modulation signal source at high bit rates without any limitations on modulation modes or standards. In addition the signal generators provide the full range of analog modulation modes, like IQ modulation. With a special software option for CDMA2000 standard, waveform files can be read into the built-in arbitrary waveform (ARB) generator.
The analog Signal Generator family R&S SML offers all features required of a state-of-the-art general-purpose signal generator. The fields of application of the R&S SML are virtually unlimited in production where it is used as a flexible signal source in automatic test systems.
The R&S SMR family covers the range from 10 MHz to 60 GHz and is an ideal tracking generator for microwave generation. As a tracking generator the SMR can be used for scala network analysis. Another classical field of application for microwave generation is the testing of radar receivers.
