MPT-1327 and ACCESSNET
Trunked Radio
MPT -1327 is a standard for any trunked radio network and was developed in 1988 by the British Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). A Trunked Radio System based on MPT 1327 generally comprise several radio channels. At least one of these channels will have been defined as the CC (control channel) and all other channels are TCs (traffic channel). Data messages between mobiles and the network are exchanged on the control channel. Each subscriber in a trunked radio network has a unique call number. For the duration of his call a subscriber is exclusively allocated a traffic channel from the available trunk. This method offers a large subscriber capacity and availability which results in an excellent service quality.
In 1988 BICK Mobilfunk started with the development of ACCESSNET. This professional trunked radio system based on the MPT-1327 signalling standard provides a solution to the problem of increasing demand of communication and a limited number of radio frequencies. ACCESSNET has made us market leader in Germany. We have installed a large number of systems world wide.
ACCESSNET makes economic use of the radio channels and provides an efficient frequency management that ensures coverage of a large area without mutual interference. A traffic channel is exclusively allocated from a radio channel trunk to the participants in a call for the duration of the connection. This method offers a large subscriber capacity and availability which results in an excellent service quality.
R&S BICK Mobilfunk supplies products like the ACCESSNET systems ACCESSNET-contact and ACCESSNET-mini, the trunked radio exchanges MMX-4plus, MMX-8, MMX-24, MMX-64, the radio base station ND950, radio base station ND951 or base station ND953, and the network- and maintenance-tools MOMo, OMC and NeOS.
The concept of 'soft migration' allows a smooth transition from MPT-1327 based systems to digital TETRA standard. Network operators are in a position to merge TETRA into their existing ACCESSNET trunked radio network.
