Hands-on demonstrations of R&D, conformance, production, and MIMO measurements
Rohde & Schwarz To Demonstrate Solutions For All Stages of WiMAX Testing at WiMAX World
Columbia, MD September 14, 2007 — Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate its comprehensive array of baseband and RF WiMAX measurement solutions for R&D, radio conformance and production testing at the WiMAX World exhibition in Chicago from September 25 to 27. Complete test stations will be available to attendees that incorporate products shown for the first time, as well as configurations for addressing the measurement challenges posed by Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology.
The test station for the R&D environment will include the company’s baseband and RF solutions. The R&S AMU200A baseband signal generator/fading simulator that integrates two baseband sources and up to four fading channels correlated for WiMAX channel simulation and the R&S FMU36 baseband signal analyzer comprise the R&D baseband solution. The R&S SMU200A that integrates two signal generators within a single instrument and the R&S FSQ spectrum/signal analyzer comprise the R&D RF solution.
The Rohde & Schwarz production test station will showcase a new instrument – the R&S CMW270 “one-box” mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e-2005) solution for measuring the performance of WiMAX mobiles and customer premise equipment. The R&S CMW270 combines signal generation, signal analysis, and an RF power meter in a single enclosure. For those interested in a discrete production test solution, Rohde & Schwarz will also demonstrate the R&S SMJ100A vector signal generator, R&S SMATE200A vector signal generator, R&S FSL spectrum analyzer, R&S FSP spectrum analyzer and R&S FSG spectrum analyzer for complete test flexibility.
For radio conformance tests, Rohde & Schwarz offers the R&S TS8970 which is optimized for comprehensive high-speed measurements. The R&S TS8970 is now optimized for Wave 1 WiMAX evaluation and ready for Wave 2.
The Rohde & Schwarz MIMO test station includes both baseband and RF solutions. Attendees will have an opportunity to see the R&S AMU200A baseband signal generator/fading simulator, R&S SMATE200A vector signal generator and R&S FSQ signal analyzer configured for 2x2 MIMO testing.
