Although digital is the hot topic now, analog transmitters still need servicing, while most existing test receivers or demodulators are at the end of their life. The R&S EFA93 is the latest analog demodulator and test receiver that can save the day. And it is extendable to digital, both for ATSC 8VSB and for Cable QAM, so it is a safe investment, too.

The new portable R&S® FSH3-TV combines the functions and features of a complete RF spectrum analyzer up to 3 GHz, with those of a TV test receiver in a single measurement instrument, and is ideal for installation, maintenance or repair work, on TV cable networks or transmitters. It comes equipped with a TV demodulator, a preamplifier and a tracking generator, and permits measurements of analog and digital TV signals, including NTSC, 8VSB and US-Cable QAM (J.83/B). A demodulated CCVS (analog TV) or as a TS-ASI (digital TV) output is provided. For use in cable networks or as a TV test receiver, a Preselector with a 75 Ohm input is available, which improves the usable dynamic range.
