Signal generation Simplifying radar testing Digital modulation up to 40 GHz To generate digitally modulated signals up to 40 GHz, the modulated RF signal from the R&S SMU/ R&SSMJ with its I/Q modulation baseband signal is applied directly to the IF input of the R&S SMR. The R&S SMR upconverts the digitally modulated signal to the microwave range.
