Digital terrestrial television (DVB-T/ATSC)

Rohde & Schwarz supplies transmitters both for the ATSC standard and for the DVB-T standard that originally came from Europe and now is being used worldwide.

DVB-T enables transmission both in 2k FFT (fast Fourier transform) and 8k FFT, which allows the implementation of large singlefrequency networks to cover wide areas. The essential advantage of transmission via single-frequency networks is frequency economy – the limited number of available frequencies are utilized more efficiently. In addition, multipath propagation improves reception and requires less transmitter power.
