Bick's successor Dr Georg Haubs was most recently CTO Innovations at Nokia Siemens Networks. Group International (Canada) to expand the existing ACCESSNET®-T network for the Moroccan General Office of National Security, DGSN (Direction Générale de la Sûreté Nationale). The current TETRA network in Rabat and Casablanca, which had also been installed by the Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary, already fully meets DGSN's high security requirements, a factor that significantly contributed to the decision to expand the network. The installed system technology meets the stringent requirements of the Moroccan security services. Owing to its positive experience with the existing ACCESSNET®-T network, DGSN is now planning to expand it nationwide.

The network consists of 49 base stations and two redundant switches.
During the games, approx. 13 000 subscribers will use the network to handle more than 80 000 calls per day.
QTEL placed the order for the network expansion owing to the positive experiences during the West Asian Games in December 2005, where communications were also successfully managed with an ACCESSNET®-T TETRA network from R&S BICK Mobilfunk.
