The “lifeline” to rescuers in the air

  In summer 1995 Rohde & Schwarz won the order to supply a blanket radio network for the SAR service (search and rescue) of the German Air Force. This organization of the Federal Armed Forces is primarily a service to support military operations. And as part of the national search and rescue service of the Federal Republic of Germany, it helps any aircraft and – in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger (German society for rescuing shipwrecked persons) – any vessel in an emergency situation.
