1. What criteria do the participants have to satisfy?
You must be a student of electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, communications engineering, radio engineering or applied computer science, and you must presently be in the fourth semester (or later) of your course of study.
The maximum number of participants is 24.
The teams are to be selected by the university and can be cross functional in that it can have 3 Bachelors and maximum 1 Master or Phd student/ candidate combination per team.
2. What are the assessment criteria for the preliminary rounds of the Case Study Competition?
Your soft skills contribute to 25 % of the total assessment. Among other things, this means how well your team works together, how effective your presentation is, and so on. The remaining 75 % primarily refers to your technical knowledge and expertise.
3. How much time should I set aside for participating in the preliminary round of the Case Study Competition?
You should expect to spend about the same amount of time as for a full day of lectures. The event will start at around 9 a.m. and end at approximately 6 p.m.
4. Which course of study should I be following to make participation worthwhile?
As the case study has a highly technical focus, you should preferably be studying electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, communications engineering, radio engineering or applied computer science.
5. What tools and aids are allowed?
It goes without saying that you can use all aids available to you (books, lecture notes, etc.). You can also take along your personal notebook PC.
6. What are the criteria for deciding whether a team can participate?
Your reasons for wanting to participate in the competition and your field of study are the main factors for deciding on your participation in the preliminary rounds.
7. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find an existing team, but I would still like to participate in the case study. Is this possible?
Of course, you can also register as an individual. On the day of the event, you can then join with other individual applicants to form a team. The minimum team size is three, and the maximum is five.
