Luis Alejandro Orellano, 56, is taking over as Executive Vice President Technology Systems from Bosco Novak, who will retire at the end of September 2023. Orellano was most recently Chief Operating Officer of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and a member of their Executive Board. There, he was responsible for Production, R&D, Engineering, Quality Management and Multiproject Management. Prior to this, the engineer with a PhD in aerodynamics held various international management positions at Bombardier for over 15 years.
Orellano will contribute his extensive knowledge of the industry as well as many years of expertise in R&D and managing complex customer projects to the German technology company Rohde & Schwarz. The company’s Technology Systems Division provides technologically leading solutions and reliable project competence for customers from defense, security, critical infrastructures and industry.
Orellano is looking forward to the challenge: "For companies, organizations and governments, technological and digital sovereignty is becoming increasingly important, and so is their need for innovative solutions. I see Rohde & Schwarz as a privately owned company with a strong engineering tradition and passion for cutting-edge technology and innovation. These are excellent conditions to further strengthen the position of the Technology Systems Division in a dynamic market environment and thus contribute to the company's success."
