Solving Conducted Emissions with EMI Filters: A Practical Design Technique

Presented by Prof. Dr. Arturo Mediano, University of Zaragoza

From the conducted emissions measured with a modern oscilloscope (MXO) in a small power electronics prototype and, including the identification of differential and common modes, we’ll show a practical approach to filter design. You’ll gain clear insights into how to bridge theory and real-world implementation, ensuring your circuits meet EMC regulations without unnecessary overdesign. Additionally, the frequency response of the proposed filter will be measured using a vector network analyzer (ZNL VNA), providing a clear demonstration of its performance in practice. This talk will equip you with actionable strategies to design, test, and validate EMI filters that actually work in real circuits.
