In this position, you will assist with the construction of test systems using our instrumentation for software regression tests. You will also be responsible for the operation of the labs, in maintaining existing test systems, selection/purchasing of lab supplies and support equipment, as well as ensuring the safety of the labs. Our test systems are designed to test RF performance, from DC to tens of GHz. These are automated systems, so experience with high frequency RF equipment is expected as well as experience with automation software, data networks, etc. As well as being comfortable with the physical tasks of constructing rack-based test systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the desire to be hands on with leading edge test equipment, and a desire to own the labs and support the engineers that depend on it. This position is at our Hillsboro, Oregon office. This position will need to be onsite most days of the week. Some limited telecommuting may be possible, depending on current tasks.

Your tasks

  • The construction of rack mounted test systems
  • Assisting with the design of test systems
  • Assisting with the planning for new lab projects
  • Periodic electrical safety checks of the labs
  • Selection and ordering of lab supplies, i.e. cables, connectors, tools, etc
  • Interact with automated script-based test systems

Your qualifications

  • An understanding of RF measurements
  • Knowledge of RF power, path losses, bandwidth/frequency limitations in cabling and switches
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent experience
  • Experience with test & measurement products, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, radio communication testers, power meters, etc.
  • Understanding of relevant electrical safety issues within a lab
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a hands-on development lab environment
  • Being a self-starter and being able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Being able to safely lift and maneuver instruments of up to 50 pounds at various heights
  • Good computer skills with experience of working in a networked environment
  • External candidates must be current US residents with valid US work authorization.

The total compensation for this position is $70*120k. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
