Enabling future in-vehicle networks: Rohde & Schwarz at Automotive Ethernet Congress 2026

Rohde & Schwarz will participate in this year’s Automotive Ethernet Congress from March 24 to 26, addressing key challenges in the rapidly evolving landscape of in-vehicle networks. The company will present solutions designed to support the development and implementation of next-generation Automotive Ethernet technologies.

While Automotive Ethernet has become the default high speed protocol for symmetrical digital communication, developers continue to navigate a complex landscape. The transition to zonal vehicle architectures and software-defined vehicles is driving increased demands on the technology, even as the standard itself undergoes constant updates and improvements through the work of the Technical Committees within the Open Alliance.

To address these challenges, Rohde & Schwarz is demonstrating options for the emerging 10BASE-T1S Automotive Ethernet standard, utilizing the capabilities of its R&S®MXO 5 oscilloscope. The oscilloscope, renowned for its fast update rate and deep memory, is proficient in capturing, triggering and decoding packets quickly as well as capturing both the big picture and smallest details of electrical signals with unparalleled accuracy for standards compliance testing and debugging of faults.

Another application that Rohde & Schwarz will showcase is electrical compliance testing for ASA (Automotive Serdes Alliance) with its RTP high-performance oscilloscope. Test engineers are guided by a step-by-step wizard in ScopeSuite+, a fully automated compliance test software with web-based GUI for easy navigation and setup. The combination of oscilloscope and compliance software provides comprehensive capabilities for signal integrity analysis, fast acquisition and accurate measurements essential for reliable Automotive communication.

Rohde & Schwarz will demo another application with a R&S®ZNB3000 , extending measurement capabilities up to 54 GHz. This new instrument family redefined the standard for speed, precision and versatility with its industry-leading dynamic range, fast measurement speed, and scalable upgrades, perfectly suited to optimize testing of Automotive Ethernet cables. The analyzer supports TC9 testing specifications, enabling comprehensive analysis of differential cables with mixed mode S-parameter measurements – including return loss and insertion loss – as well as time domain impedance measurements. Integration with modern fixture modelling tools further simplifies testing by facilitating accurate de-embedding for inline connector analysis, allowing engineers to quickly identify and resolve connection point issues.

The company’s presence at the Congress underscores the importance of robust testing solutions in enabling the continued advancement and reliable deployment of Automotive Ethernet technologies.
