Versatile high-precision power analyzer

The ZES ZIMMER LMG600 precision power analyzer series provides high-accuracy power measurements in demanding test applications. DualPath architecture enables simultaneous wideband and narrowband analysis up to 10 MHz. The analyzer precisely measures very low power, complex multi-phase and high-power systems with configurable power channels and external sensors.

A 10.1" touchscreen with intuitive user interface, built-in data logging and customizable menus simplifies operation and reduces setup times. Whether in R&D, validation or certification, the analyzer delivers consistent, traceable results for accurate power analysis.

Features & benefits

Flexible channel configuration

Tailored precision where you need it

Not every measurement in a setup demands the same precision or bandwidth. The LMG600 series supports four channel types (S, A, B, C) that can be mixed freely within the same chassis, ranging from the S-Channel with 0.015% AC accuracy and 10 MHz bandwidth down to the C-Channel for lower-frequency tasks. You configure the instrument to match the application — no over-specification, no compromises where it counts.

DualPath architecture

Wideband and narrowband values in a single measurement

Conventional power analyzers demand a compromise: enable anti-aliasing filter and lose wideband content, or disable it and risk aliasing errors in your FFT. The LMG600 series resolves the problem with two independent A/D converters per channel — one for the filterless wideband signal, one for the narrowband signal after anti-aliasing. Both paths run in parallel, delivering RMS values, harmonics, and FFT results from the same signal simultaneously.

Custom menu

A user interface tailored to your application

Build application-specific views from the ground up: choose electrical quantities and I/O variables for display, arrange them freely on screen and add graphical elements such as wiring diagrams, photographs or your brand identity. Pass/fail indicators and on-screen input fields for DUT-specific parameters can be embedded directly into the view, creating a measurement environment that even less experienced operators can use confidently.

Plug and measure sensor integration

Range extension of current measurements

Connected precision current transducers (PCT) use an integrated bus to notify the LMG600, automatically transferring scaling factors, delay compensation, sensor type and the last calibration date. LMG600 series power analyzers also directly supply power to sensors, eliminating need for separate supplies. There is no difference between direct and sensor-based measurements and no manual fine-tuning is required for accurate results.

Bi-directional CAN interface

Bridging power analysis and the automotive world

The LMG600 series can share up to 128 measured values and variables directly over the CAN bus including voltage, current, power, speed, torque, temperature and more. The interface is bidirectional: the LMG600 can also act on incoming CAN messages, with up to 128 trigger conditions available to start recordings, switch ranges or initiate logging based on external events. No middleware, no manual data alignment.

Compliance testing with the LMG test suite

End-to-end standard conformance evaluation

The LMG test suite guides the LMG600 through EMC compliance tests in line with - IEC/EN 61000-3-2/-12 (harmonics) - IEC/EN 61000-3-3/-11 (flicker) - EN 50564/IEC 62301 (standby power). It works online or offline with any standard-compliant AC source and exports comprehensive test reports that include all traceability information. Upcoming changes are incorporated as they are adopted.

Process signal interface (PSI)

Mechanical and environmental data, perfectly synchronized

The optional PSI adds fast analog inputs, switching inputs and outputs, torque/speed/frequency inputs and 32 analog outputs — all synchronized with the power channels. Torque, speed, temperature and pressure can be acquired alongside voltage and current. External devices can be triggered or driven directly from measured values.

Multi-device synchronization

No need to stop at seven channels

Multiple LMG600 units can be linked via sync cable to form a single virtual analyzer, automatically aligning cycle timing, system time, transient trigger events and the state of energy integration. Whether you need eight channels or more, the measurement will remain coherent across all chassis with no manual reconciliation required.

Gapless measurement with full dynamic range

From microamps to 32 amps without changing ranges

IEC 62301 and EN 50564 compliance procedures require uninterrupted observation across a wide variety of load conditions. The LMG600 series has a continuous dynamic range of 500 µA to 32 A and 3 mV to 1000 V, with 18-bit resolution and a 10 ms minimum cycle time. Standby and full-load conditions can be characterized in a single, uninterrupted run, with 0.015% basic accuracy preserved even near the bottom of a range.
