EMC32-S: Amplifier properties, reverse coupling path attenuation

Question:

In my hardware setup, I have two power meters connected to the amplifier, one for the amplifier FWD path and one for the amplifier REV path. When I look at the amplifier properties, I can only define the attenuation of the FWD coupling path. The REV coupling path is missing. Is there a reason for this?

Answer:

That is correct. The input field for the REV coupling path attenuation is only available on the amplifier properties tab with the EMC32-K1 option (enhanced EMS level functions for EMS measurements) or the EMC32-K3 option (EMS measurements in reverberation chambers). One of these options has to be installed and enabled with an iKey.

EMC32-S: Amplifier properties, reverse coupling path attenuation

In most cases, it suffices to use the FWD coupling path attenuation.

The reason is that the attenuation settings for the FWD path are also used for the REV path. This is absolutely adequate for all symmetrical couplers.

A separate REV coupling path attenuation is only needed for asymmetrical couplers.
