Introduction

Shape the future of high-performance signal generation with advanced DSP, simulation, and AI-assisted development.

Tasks

  • You will design and implement complex baseband signals within the existing signal generator platform, including software components and the hardware co-processor.
  • DSP algorithms such as frequency and phase response correction, IQ impairment compensation, linearization and calibration procedures will be defined, specified and designed by you.
  • In C++, you will implement, optimize and verify algorithms, while using MATLAB and Python for prototyping, analysis and validation.
  • You will model and simulate transmission systems to verify algorithms, system behavior and technical specifications.
  • Test and verification routines, including unit tests, integration tests, automated simulations and measurement setup checks, will be developed and maintained by you.
  • In close collaboration with FPGA, hardware and testing teams, you will define interfaces, register maps, data formats and integration requirements.
  • You will design and execute end-to-end simulations of the complete signal chain, including noise, non-linearities, timing and jitter effects, and calibration flows.
  • Shift-left practices and AI-assisted development tools will be used by you to speed up prototyping, test creation and routine coding tasks, while ensuring review, reproducibility and traceability.

Qualifications

  • A completed degree, preferably at Master’s level or equivalent, in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field is required.
  • Good knowledge of digital signal processing and communication systems is important, especially in baseband processing, spectral analysis, and noise or interference modelling.
  • Practical experience in software development is expected. Experience with modern C++ is helpful, but not mandatory. MATLAB and Python skills for prototyping, analysis, and evaluation are required.
  • Experience in implementing and verifying DSP algorithms is important, including related test and measurement setups. Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs is an advantage.
  • Experience with Git and basic software development processes, such as code reviews and CI/CD pipelines, is expected. Knowledge of Embedded Linux, CMake, Yocto, and test automation is helpful.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools, such as Cursor, is desirable. The ability to use their results in a test-driven development workflow is an advantage.
  • Experience with shift-left testing strategies is helpful. Strong analytical skills and a structured way of working are important for modelling, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Good teamwork skills and a customer-oriented mindset are important. The role requires collaboration across different disciplines and the ability to turn customer needs into practical solutions. Strong communication skills in English are required; good German skills are a plus.
