Analog Devices, Inc. Rohde & Schwarz worked with ADI to use the R&S MXO 4 and 5 series oscilloscope with the R&S MXOx-K560 option to decode the 10BASE-T1S communication. The 10BASE-T1S Ethernet to Edge Bus, named E2B™, from ADI provides a low complexity, high flexibility edge node implementation for automotive applications. The oscilloscope, renowned for its fast update rate and deep memory, is proficient in capturing, triggering and decoding packets quickly as well as capturing both the big picture and smallest details of electrical signals with unparalleled accuracy. It is also able to detect intermittent faults in the communication bus with fast acquisitions.

R&S FSWP phase noise analyzer and VCO tester now supports up to 56 GHz and external signal sourcesRohde & Schwarz has updated the R&S FSWP for upcoming applications. The new option R&S FSWP-B56G extends the frequency range up to 56 GHz. With the support of external high-end sources as local oscillators it combines the advantage of an easy-to-use signal source analyzer and a high-end phase noise tester. For additive and residual phase noise measurements on amplifiers Rohde & Schwarz has extended the frequency range of the internal signal source up to 54 GHz. In addition, a new and very easy method for noise figure measurements has been added.

Rohde & Schwarz and Fraport evaluate the world’s first walk-through scanner for passengersFraport began testing the world’s first walk-through security scanner for passengers at Frankfurt Airport. The R&S QPS Walk2000 from Rohde & Schwarz is designed to speed up security checks. The first of these scanners is currently in use in Concourse A of Terminal 1. Passengers simply walk through the scanner at a normal pace without stopping. The test and evaluation phase is set to last up to six months and will provide Fraport and Rohde & Schwarz with important information to help optimize the system.

Rohde & Schwarz and Greenerwave collaborate to verify RIS modules and drive 6G researchReconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) are drawing attention in the wireless industry due to their potential for an efficient 5G mmWave rollout as well as future 6G applications. A measurement campaign by Rohde & Schwarz and Greenerwave recently characterized the configurable radio wave reflection properties of a novel FR2 RIS module developed by Greenerwave with an over-the-air (OTA) antenna test system from Rohde & Schwarz. It is one of the first real measurements confirming that a metamaterial-based RIS can improve the coverage and efficiency of wireless communications performance, especially for 5G FR2. The groundbreaking work will pave the way for further 6G developments.
