Mobile XR and AI glasses are emerging as a key platform for 6G, but delivering compelling, low-latency experiences on these devices will require rigorous, realistic testing. This video addresses the dual challenge of emulating complex XR and AI glasses applications and the equally complex wireless networks these devices will utilize.
This presentation describes how an end-to-end testbed centered on the Rohde & Schwarz CMX500 addresses these testing challenges with its ability to emulate 4G, 5G, and Wi Fi networks, support network slicing, and apply both RF and IP impairments to reproduce real-world conditions such as interference and congestion. Two illustrative use cases show the testbed in action. A live translation testing workflow switching between a cloud LLM and an on-device SLM when network conditions degrade is presented followed by a field maintenance XR testing scenario using remote GPU rendering of a complex jet engine model with local fallback.
Whether optimizing for today's networks or preparing for 6G, this video offers practical guidance to validate and fine-tune mobile XR and AI glasses experiences that remain robust as RF and network conditions change.
