Peru TV distribution centre appreciates the abilities of R&S PRISMON

Rohde & Schwarz Mexico, together with technological partners for FBMS, TELETEC and ARKTURIAS, demonstrated the abilities of R&S PRISMON monitoring and multiviewer solution to The Terrestrial Station of Lurín in Peru, which manages the submarine cable that connects Peru to the world and the signals from more than 700 television channels for satellite pay TV operator, Telefónica.

The Terrestrial Station is one of the most important video and audio data centres in Latin America and has the difficult task of monitoring a large number of channels to guarantee the correct sending of content in different resolutions, combined with the complexity of working with both IP routing and SDI wiring. In addition, it has a laboratory responsible for verifying new consumer decoders and approving their use for the end user, in order to avoid problems with the signal and compliance with standards.

During the visit, Rohde & Schwarz and its partners were able to prove to the station's engineering group that all these complex tasks can be solved elegantly with R&S PRISMON.
