Preparing the industry for an IP-based future, Ronde & Schwarz presented its broadcast and media portfolio, covering ingest, storage and processing, playout, encoding and multiplexing, monitoring, transmission and test and measurement solutions.

With R&S VENICE, Rohde & Schwarz introduced a new approach to live ingest, media processing and channel playout at CABSAT 2018 that cost-effectively provides bridging technology between hybrid SDI and IP broadcast operations.

The successful R&S AVHE100 encoding and multiplexing solution was shown, adding premium-quality adaptive bit rate (ABR) encoding as well as packetizing for all established formats for OTT live streaming. The R&S AVHE100 also fully supports high dynamic range (HDR) video transmissions.

Also shown were the company’s RelayCaster and CodecCaster products, plus a new commercial web service to supplement the R&S PRISMON content monitoring and multiviewing solution from Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary GMIT.
