Remote Access to CMW via WiFi / WLAN

Question

On the CMW500 / CMW270 / CMW290 the WiFi functonaltiy for network addapters is disabled in the installed Windows operating system. This function is blocked because of stability and performance of the test system and can not be enabled. So USB WLAN dongles that are connected to the CMW front USB ports will be recognized by windows but cannot establish a WLAN connection.

How can a WiFi connection instead be made to a WiFi network for remote access of the CMW?

Answer

A WiFi router can be connected to the remote LAN interface and if this WiFi router is supporting the so called client-mode the CMW can be connected to an WiFi access point. Some routers are also support theWLAN to WLAN bridge mode that can be used to establish the connection.

The Remote Desktop, Team Viewer or to the instrument internal web page via WiFi is posible without any restrictions. For remote controll with automatic test sequences we recomend to use a cable LAN connection because of lower latency of a cabled ethernet connection.
