In EMC32, there is a generic driver for the old Rohde & Schwarz NAP power meter
I would like to use this to measure forward and reverse power with EMC32-S. However, for some reason the EMC32 software does not allow this.
How can I set up EMC32 so that it is possible to measure with the forward and reverse power with NAP?
There is an example configuration file for the NAP generic power meter that should be used. The configuration file for NAP was created to measure the forward power.
Go to the EMC32 installation path (...Configuration/Powermeters/) and open the ASCII file NAP_PM.DeviceConfiguration with an ASCII editor and compare the command below the "[Measure]" header
with the information in your NAP operating manual.
To use the NAP for forward and reflected power, proceed as follows:
In the "NAP_PM.DeviceConfiguration" file, change "DF" to "DR" and save the configuration file under a new file name, e.g. "NAP_PM_REV.DeviceConfiguration".
Run EMC32, open the device list, and add the generic power meter to the "Configured Devices" twice.
Right click to rename the two generic power meters, e.g. to "NAP FWD Generic Power Meter" and "NAP REV Generic Power Meter".
Now open the Properties of the new power meters. For the "NAP FWD Generic Power Meter", you can use the existing "NAP_PM.DeviceConfiguration" configuration file.
For the "NAP REV Generic Power Meter", you can use the new configuration file with the changes we made above.
Don't forget to verify your instrument settings for the remote control interface, change the state to physical and add the new instruments to your hardware setup.
