The Generalized Precision Time Protocol (gPTP) specified also as IEEE 802.1AS provides an accurate time base to all time aware elements in an Ethernet network. Applications such as Audio/Video and Automotive/Industrial Control rely on the time provided by this protocol for synchronization of events. In this video we demonstrate 2 different methods to measure gPTP. The first method uses 1 Pulse Per Second (1PPS) and the second uses a Reverse Sync Method. For this video the RTO6 oscilloscope is used to verify gPTP with 1PPS along with the TSN Box 3.1 used for gPTP master, synchronized TAP and gPTP slave (DUT).
