EVENT: After 17 years, DenyAll becomes Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity

8 June 2018

On May 31, DenyAll brought together the entire cybersecurity community of its domestic market in France – channel and technology partners, journalists and analysts, consultants and customers – to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter: DenyAll became Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity. The Summit offered a great opportunity to meet over 200 high level security representatives from all industry sectors and to share the new corporate vision with them.

New name, new perspective

This change marks the completion of an integration project, initiated with the acquisition by the German cybersecurity vendor. The DenyAll best in class products and the high-class team of cybersecurity experts have been recognized as most valuable assets to Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity.

Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity has been recognized as an emerging force in the European cybersecurity market and intends to play a global role in years to come, by focusing on select products in two key target groups: the regulated and enterprise markets.

Application Security is one of the cornerstones of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity’s strategy for enterprise and public sectors, together with R&S®Trusted Gate. This product is expected to be launched in the South European markets in the coming weeks. R&S®Trusted Gate protects corporate data in the cloud, by seamlessly encrypting and decrypting documents within corporate applications, such as Microsoft SharePoint.

Appointment within the Application and Cloud Security Business Unit

Finally, Mr Reik Hesselbarth, Managing Director and CFO of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, took the opportunity to announce the appointment of Stéphane de Saint Albin as the leader of the newly formed Application and Cloud Security business unit. This organizational change is effective as of June 1, 2018. Mr de Saint Albin has served as VP Marketing and Business Development of DenyAll from 2011 to 2017 and currently serves as VP Product Strategy of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity.

Jacques Sebag, CEO of DenyAll and leader of the Network Protection business unit, announced that he intends to leave the company at the end of the summer to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

Quick overview of the Cybersecurity Summit

The day was punctuated by live demonstrations, technical workshops, product innovations and in particular the latest generation of the Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity Web Application Firewall: R&S®Web Application Firewall 6.5 is the new “Long Term Support” version, intended to be used in production. It has improved capabilities, particularly in the field of analysis and opens new integration horizons for DevOps teams. The roadmap for R&S®Cloud Protector, the cloud protection service for Web applications and APIs will also be in the spotlight.

Among the activities not to be missed were a Roundtable on Hybrid Cloud Threats and Opportunities, featuring France’s leading cloud computing providers, and an Accenture keynote on digital transformation.

The event ended with a show by mentalist Viktor Vincent and a VIP cocktail in the gardens of Saint-Dominique. The customers and partners present were able to discuss the course of the day and enjoy the virtual reality activity to make the jump of digital transformation at 300m high. Finally, here are some images of the Cybersecurity Summit above.
