The Rohde & Schwarz Texas Production and Integration Center produces custom-integrated RF systems as well as products for various government programs. We deliver turnkey RF solutions to various customers ranging from the commercial market to the aerospace and defense sectors. Our systems are integrated into a wide variety of solutions including EMC anechoic test chambers, vehicles, and ranges. We are looking for a talented Process Engineer to join our world-class operations team and contribute to the continued delivery of these high-quality products. The Process Engineer will be a key driver in optimizing and standardizing our production processes for RF racking, cabling, and support systems. This role focuses on analyzing existing processes, developing improvements, and ensuring consistent execution through detailed documentation and training. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, data analysis, and a proactive approach to enhancing efficiency and quality.

Your tasks

  • Process Documentation & Standardization: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including standard work instructions, assembly instructions, workmanship standards, and process flowcharts. Maintain and update SAP Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related work instructions.
  • Process Analysis & Improvement: Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement solutions to optimize cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
  • Data Analysis & Monitoring: Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement. Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor process performance.
  • Process Validation & Implementation: Validate new or modified processes to ensure they meet quality and performance requirements. Support the implementation of process changes on the production floor.
  • Lean Implementation & Training: Implement LEAN practices into daily operations, including tracking KPIs, facilitating Kaizen Events, utilizing A3 problem-solving, implementing 5S, and promoting One Piece Flow. Develop and deliver training to staff on new and existing processes, maintaining accurate training documentation.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze production costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses through process improvements and efficient resource utilization.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Create reports, presentations, and demonstrations to support process improvements and change management initiatives. Ensure all manufacturing procedures adhere to safety and environmental regulations and champion company standards and procedures.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Process Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit software, CAD, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions to process-related problems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to all levels of personnel.
  • Experience applying LEAN principles and working within a Quality Management System.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Experience working with an ERP/MRP system, such as SAP.
  • Must be able to meet the security requirements for on-site work for TSA, including Public trust, Background check, criminal records, work history and identity verification and fingerprinting.
  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent work authorization required.

The total compensation for this position is $66K-$90K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
