Are you an Electronic or Mechatronic Engineer who gets excited about designing integrated communications systems for government and defense related authorities? In this position as a System Engineer you get the chance to convert designs into real communication systems for our Naval and Defense customers. Your areas of expertise are radios, antennas, networks, interfacing, encryption, customer furnished equipment and sub-systems like Public Address Systems and Wireless Systems. You will become part of our European Center of Competence in Utrecht, with responsibilities for sales support and delivery of projects. Due to our small-scale office, you will have the opportunity to work in close cooperation with our Sales team and Project Management department, which also gives you the opportunity to grow and develop your career. The Center of Competence is part of an international organization, which gives you the opportunity to utilize and develop your organizational and communication skills. Therefore, you also need to be willing to travel occasionally to customers, R&S offices and/or project locations.

Your tasks

  • Working within the entire system engineering life cycle including conception, defining and analyzing requirements, system design , realization, integration, verification, acceptance and support.
  • Contributing as part of a bid team to submit proposals for delivery mission-critical capability.
  • Conducting system engineering activities in accordance with the Rohde & Schwarz systems engineering framework based upon ISO / PMI standards.
  • Participating in tender responses, design reviews, integration, test and site commissioning activities.
  • Delivering systems engineering services to meet project milestones, within budget and to the highest quality expected by our clients.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering qualifications in Electrical/Engineering or relevant degree, preferably with experience in Systems, Radio Frequency, Mechatronics, Electronics, Communications or Aerospace.
  • Proven experience in a project engineering environment within an international setting.
  • As a person you are structured and proactive.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Dutch.
  • Experience in configuring networks; other IP networking technologies are seen as an advantage.
  • Proficient with tools like MS Project, Visio, Word and Excel.
