High-precision DC voltage/current calibration source

The 6166 is a highly accurate, highly stable bipolar calibration source with voltage settings from 10 nV to 1200 V and current settings from 1 nA to 120 mA. Due to its outstanding accuracy and stability, it is ideal for calibrating high-precision digital voltmeters and other instrumentation systems or sensors.

DC voltage/current sourcing in 10 nV/1 nA steps

High resolution and voltage supply up to ±1200 V

The output voltage can normally be set in four ranges from 0 to ±1199.999 V in minimum 1 μV steps. When the divider voltage function is selected, the voltage can be set in three ranges from 0 to ±1199.999 mV in minimum 10 nV steps. This is ideal for adjusting, testing, servicing and calibrating high-sensitivity devices and elements. The output current can be set in three ranges from 0 to ±119.9999 mA in 1 nA steps. Both a voltage limit and a current limit can be set for voltage sourcing (except divider voltage) and current sourcing. They can protect against damage caused by an operating mistake.

JIS-compliant thermal EMF output function

Optimal for temperature calibration of thermometers/sensors

The 6166 has a function to generate thermal electromotive force of thermocouples according to the JIS table. Selecting the type of thermocouple and temperature to be generated will output voltage corresponding to the setting temperature. The type of thermocouple is selectable from eight types: T, J, E, K, S, R, B and N. The JIS standard is JISC1602-1995 or JISC1602-1981. The reference junction temperature can be set arbitrarily within a range from -270°C to 120°C. This function enables temperature calibration of thermometers and other instrumentation systems.

Continuous zero-crossing

Since the 6166 features a bipolar output, the source polarity can alternate between negative and positive without switching the internal relays. This streamlines zero-crossing evaluation. The 6166 not only offers improved operability, it is also free of concerns about the mechanical parts lifetime.

Comfortable program function

1000 data set memory for automatic test runs

The 6166 has a memory  capacity of 1000 data sets for the program function. Voltage, current, thermal electromotive force, temperature, voltage limit and current limit can be stored in this memory.  Any of this data can be output or the data from the first number to the last number can be scanned. This function makes it easy to build a simplified auto test system and greatly improves the operating efficiency.

Easy system integration

USB and GPIB interfaces as well as trigger and interlock inputs

The 6166 is equipped with GPIB and USB interfaces. The BCD parallel interface installed on the former 6161 model is also available optionally. In addition to the TRIGGER IN signal input for starting the output voltage or current saved in the program memory, the INTERLOCK signal input for controlling the output status with a foot switch, etc. has been added in consideration of voltage sourcing up to 1200 V for easy and secure safety control.

Terms & Conditions of the Prize Draw 10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes

1. The prize draw “10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes” (herein referred to as “Draw”) is organized by Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Mühldorfstraße 15, 81671 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 89 41 29 0 (herein referred to as “R&S).

2. All participators can register to the draw during January 01, 2020 to December 31, 2020 with their name, company name and business e-mail.

3. Participation is free of charge and not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.

4. The draw is only open to legal entities and only the legal entities are able to win the prizes. An individual person is not allowed to participate on its own name and its own account but as a representative of a legal entity filing the participation form in the name of and on behalf of the legal entity.

5. The prizes to win are 1 of 10 R&S®RTB2000 within the time frame January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020:

6. The draw takes place at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters, Muehldorstrasse 15, 81671 Munich. The winner of the prizes will be informed by e-mail within 5 (5) working days.

7. The authorized representative of the legal entity shall inform Rohde & Schwarz about the acceptance of the price. In case of the denial of the acceptance, or no answer within two (2) weeks, a new winner will be drawn. If no winner can be determined within four (4) weeks, the draw ends and the prize forfeit.

8. R&S’ employees and members of their families and also person being familiar with the process of the draw and members of their families are excluded from filling the participation form.

9. No cash equivalent or exchange of prizes is allowed. Prizes are non-transferable. All taxes, levies, duties, fees and other charges levied in the participant´s country shall be borne by the participant.

10. Personal data will be processed only for the purpose of this prize draw and deleted four (4) weeks after the draw, if not agreed otherwise.

11. Any Participant who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified by R&S from this Competition. In such cases, prizes can also be withdrawn retrospectively. In case a prize is withdrawn retrospectively due to the non-compliance with these Terms & Conditions, it shall be returned by the respective participant at his cost to R&S’ address mentioned under Nr.1 and a new winner will be drawn.

12. The participants cannot claim the prizes of this draw and no legal recourse is permitted in this respect.

13. The draw and any contractual relationship arising therefrom between R&S and the respective participant shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without any recourse to the conflict of laws. The courts of Munich, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction in case of any disputes arising directly or indirectly from the participation in this Competition.
