5G NR FR2 is all about OTA testing since the required active antenna systems do not support RF connectors for conducted testing. But typically, OTA testing requires a significant amount of lab space due to the required chamber size. The super compact R&S®ATS800R CATR rack-based antenna test system helps solving this problem with a footprint as small as 0.8 sqm (9 sqft) and a chamber height of below 2 m (6.5 ft) including an optional 12 HU rack for 19” instruments.
It provides a 20 cm (8”) diameter quiet zone and can be equipped with many different options such as a 3D azimuth over elevation positioner, an infrared camera to observe heat dissipation for the device under test as well as additional lower frequency antennas to e.g. provide an FR1 anchor when testing active FR2 devices in non-standalone mode (NSA).
