DVB-C/S/T, the first generation of the DVB standard, was developed in the mid-1990s and is now used in many countries worldwide. DVB-S2, the first second-generation DVB standard, became available in 2004. DVB-T2 and DVB-C2 completed the second generation of transmission standards.

This seminar covers DVB-T2, the terrestrial version of DVB-x2. DVB-T2 is not DVB-T compatible, it is a completely new, highly advanced, and very complex terrestrial transmission standard for digital television.
