Brief Description

The NM8500 is a multistandard platform for analog, digital and mobile TV that can be deployed throughout the world. The transmitters' compact design and high energy efficiency reduce infrastructure and life cycle costs. The modular concept of the R&S®xx8000 transmitter generation across platforms yields a high degree of synergy with regard to spare parts inventory and operation.

The liquid-cooled transmitter family has been designed for high transmit power in VHF band III. The R&S®Nx8500 transmitters have an output power of up to 20 kW for analog TV. The coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) TV standards DVB-T, DVB-T2, ISDB-T/ISDB-TB, DTMB as well as the DVB-H and MediaFLO mobile TV standards are output with up to 7.8 kW. The maximum output power for the ATSC standard and its mobile enhancement ATSC Mobile DTV is 11.5 kW. The transmitters can be accommodated in one or two 19" racks with a depth of 1200 mm. Their small footprint enables them to be flexibly adapted to any site requirements. If requested, they can easily be switched over from analog to digital TV.
