Your tasks

  • Location: UK-based (preferred proximity to R&S Fleet Office). Rohde & Schwarz UK is seeking a new Sales and Business Development Manager position based in in the UK that will be part of the UK sales team, with contributions to the wider global market. The position is responsible for the UK and Ireland markets and provides an exciting opportunity offering a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and critical societal impact. As a Security Scanner BDM, you'll have the chance to work on state of-the-art security screening solutions that play a crucial role in safeguarding public spaces, loss prevention, transportation systems, and critical infrastructure worldwide. This is a customer facing role that will directly contribute to enhancing security and protecting lives. The global security scanner sales and BDM will work closely with peers globally providing a dynamic and fulfilling environment, where innovation, problem-solving, close collaboration and teamwork, and global security concerns intersect.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and market needs throughout the UK and Ireland
  • Identify and target potential clients in various non-aviation sectors (e.g., Logistics/warehousing. Fulfilment centres, government buildings, critical infrastructure).
  • Maintain and grow the already well-established aviation scanner business
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business development goals.
  • Create and manage a sales funnel to ensure consistent growth.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and demonstrations of security scanners.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to align client requirements and needs with product offerings

Your qualifications

  • Skills / Qualifications / Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development and/or sales within the security market and high-tech industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience with security scanners or related technology.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland to customer sites, with occasional international travel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field. A master’s degree is preferred
  • Full clean UK driving license.
  • Willingness to be UK security cleared SC
  • Proficiency in self-assessment and prioritising activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
