Brief description

The R&S®SMW-K546 Digital Doherty software option sets up the R&S®SMW200A to automatically generate two precisely aligned signals (frequency, time, phase and amplitude) to stimulate the main and auxiliary amplifier inputs of a Doherty PA.

It performs power split and input-power dependent phase delta on the two signal paths in real time. Advanced features include in-built shaping functions (e.g., polynomial, shaping from table or classic Doherty dog leg) for the auxiliary path as well as real-time AM/AM and AM/PM digitial pre-distortion on the main and auxilliary signal paths.

The R&S®SMW-K546 Digital Doherty software option works seamlessly with the R&S®FSW-K18 Amplifier Measurements application on the R&S®FSW signal and spectrum analyzer to fully characterize Doherty amplifiers, providing the designer with an in-depth understanding of performance trade-offs and information to select the best input split for any Doherty Amplifier design and application.
