How can I add a attenuation table to my cable, used in my measurement setup?

Answer

To add a cable attenuation, it is needed to add a new Correction Table, first. You can do this from EMC32 Explorer with a right mouse click on “New File”.

EMC32 will open a new empty table.

Here you can enter your attenuation values to the table. As soon as you are finished, click on the “Save” icon to add this file to EMC32 Explorer (see example, below)

and enter a file name to save.

From now, your new attenuation is part of EMC32 Explorer and can be used in the software.

To add the cable attenuation to a specific Hardware Setup, please open Hardware Setup from EMC32 Explorer

and click on the Signal Path (dB symbol) you would like change.

Here you can change the Properties of the Signal Path. You can set a constant value for the Signal Path or you can select the Table you have saved, before. Click “Ok” so apply the changes.

As soon as you close the Hardware Setup with “OK”, the changes can be used in any Test Template that is associated with this Hardware Setup.

To start a new test from EMC32 Explorer, do a right click on the Test Template that is associated with the Hardware Setup and select "New Test".
