With MHL a solution has been created which enables multimedia capabilities of mobile phones and portable devices for delivering high-definition (HD) content to HDTV´s and other CE products with an easy-to-implement digital connectivity. The MHL Consortium develope, license and promote MHL as an industry standard.

Founded by Nokia, Samsung, Silicon Image, Sony and Toshiba, the MHL Consortium’s goal is to promote the technology as the de facto standard of choice for audio / video connectivity for mobile devices. Not only can consumers connect their MHL-enabled devices to the big screen to watch HD videos, play video games or make presentations, but they can now access all of their content from the road. MHL-enabled products include adapters, automotive accessories, AV receivers, Blu-ray Disc™ players, cables, DTVs, monitors, projectors, smartphones, tablets, TV accessories and more.
