Rohde & Schwarz and Vector win 2020 AVT ACES award for C-V2X test solution

Each year, top companies in the areas of vehicle autonomy, connectivity, electrification, and mobility services are awarded by BNP Media’s print/digital magazine “Autonomous Vehicle Technology”. Rohde & Schwarz and Vector are amongst the winners in the category connectivity. The AVT ACES award recognizes the two company’s joint efforts of in developing and verifying C-V2X end-to-end application scenarios that are enabling user equipment manufacturers and OEMs to reduce the time needed to roll out C-V2X technology.

With the evolution to autonomous vehicles, the automotive industry is going through arguably the greatest period of transformation since it was formed. The joint cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) test solution by Rohde & Schwarz and Vector is a significant step towards achieving the goal of having fully connected vehicles to improve road safety.

The combined solution of the R&S CMW500 network simulator, its R&S SMBV100B GNSS simulator, and Vector’s CANoe .Car2x enables customers to emulate real life scenarios in a lab environment. It makes sure that scenarios are fully reproducible, making it ideal for validating safety-critical V2X scenarios in the lab. This helps with performing tests from physical layer up to the application layer, enabling user equipment manufacturers and OEMs to reduce the time needed to roll out the important and fast-evolving C-V2X technology.

For the 2020 edition of its AVT ACES Awards, editors and other industry experts have evaluated numerous companies looking for those with the most innovative products and best reputations in their industries. Winners were determined over the past few months by the editors based on contributor, industry expert, company, and reader inputs. The AVT ACES recognizes in particular results of top partnerships, collaborations, and consortia that address the challenges of new mobility technology, engineering, and development.
