Vehicle Communications for Safety: eCall Fundamentals and Test Solutions
Rohde & Schwarz Webinar from December 03, 2013
-
eCall is an interoperable in-vehicle emergency call system designed with the objective to greatly reduce response times in the case of an accident in order to save human lives. In contrast to other already existing private services, eCall is based on a pan-European standard and is required to be introduced for all new car models from 2015 onwards by the European Commission. Besides establishing a voice communications channel between the driver and the public safety answering point, eCall provides a data message with key vehicle information (GPS coordinates, timestamp, car ID etc.), which is transmitted via the cellular network.
This webinar provides insights into the underlying key technologies of the eCall system, highlights the test requirements and demonstrates powerful test solutions for the verification of eCall modems to ensure standard-compliant operation.
Attendees will learn:
- Technical fundamentals of the eCall ecosystem
- Overview of eCall standardization
- Test solutions for verification and conformance testing of eCall in-band modems
