Dr.-Ing. Mathias Magdowski
Scientific Coworker, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg
Mathias Magdowski is an engineer by heart and studied electrical engineering at the Otto von Guericke University (OVGU) in Magdeburg, Germany from 2003 to 2008. Since then, he has been working as a researcher and lecturer at the Chair for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) within the Institute of Medical Technology (IMT). In 2013, he also worked as a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado. His current research interest include analytical and statistical methods for modeling EMC problems, especially the field-to-wire coupling of statistic fields in mode-stirred chambers or reverberation chambers.
Presentation: Why should I be a member of the IEEE EMC Society?
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest professional association in the fields of technology and engineering, with more than 500 000 members.
In the field of EMC, the IEEE is represented in Germany by its own chapter, which is part of the EMC Society. Our activities include recruiting young talents in the EMC field, regularly organizing technical presentations, and hosting an annual EMC Student Contest, a doctoral student meeting, a Young Professional Event, and an EMC Boot Camp. In the presentation, I report on these activities and highlight why membership in the IEEE is worthwhile.
