Your tasks
- Senior Systems Design Engineer – Air Traffic Communications Solutions
- Role Overview The Senior Systems Design Engineer is responsible for the end‑to‑end design, integration, and validation of air traffic communications systems, with a strong focus on radio transmission (HF/VHF/UHF) and voice communication systems (VCS) for civil and military air traffic management (ATM).
- Key Responsibilities :
- System Design & Engineering
- A. Lead system‑level design and architecture for air traffic communications solutions, including:
- VHF, UHF, and HF radio systems
- Ground‑to‑air and ground‑to‑ground voice communications
- Remote radio sites and central control facilities
- B. Develop technical solutions that meet operational, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Define system interfaces, design redundancy , and system fallback design.
- Perform overall network design analysis, coverage planning, and interference assessments.
- Specify equipment, subsystems, and infrastructure requirements.
- C. Voice Communication Systems (VCS)
- Design and integrate ATC Voice Communication and Switching Systems, including:
- Controller working positions
- Voice recording systems
- Intercom, hotline, and telephony interfaces (analog and VOIP)
- D. Ensure compliance with international standards for Air Traffic Communications
- E. Radio Transmission Systems
- Design radio transmission solutions including:
- Transceivers, antennas, combiners, multicouplers, and remote radio heads
- RF distribution and site infrastructure
- Support frequency planning and channel spacing
- Provide recommendations to civil aviation authorities on frequency and spectrum usage
- F. Systems Integration & Verification
- Lead integration of hardware, software, and network components into a complete system. Develop system documentation, including:
- System architecture and systems subsystems design documents
- Interface Control Documents (ICD)
- G. Define and execute FAT, SAT, and other acceptance testing.
- F. Support commissioning and operational handover.
