R&S®TSMx is the product family for state-of-the-art network scanners for drive test and walk tests including the R&S®TSMA6B and R&S®TSME6. R&S®TSMx products passively capture data from the air interface, offering a pure and accurate view of the RF performance and MIB/SIB/Layer 3 messages of the most popular technologies without needing to subscribe to network services.
Specific measurements on 5GNR signals for sub 6 GHz and mm-wave
The R&S®TSMx6 is a future-proof hardware platform, which can be easily upgraded to 5GNR sub 6 GHz and mm wave measurements via an in-field upgrade. It is ready to control additional hardware (R&S®TSME30DC/R&S®TSME44DC) which is required to measure in mm-wave frequency bands for a simplified measurement setup and reduced measurement setup time.

Detect all bands and technologies automatically
The R&S®TSMx detects active channels in a specified band. 5GNR, LTE, UMTS, CDMA2000®/1xEV-DO and NB-IoT networks are supported. This feature can be optionally enhanced by a spectrum scan that significantly speeds up the detection process. In this mode, channel lists no longer have to be set up before a measurement campaign. The measurement system dynamically identifies new channels and adds them to the workspace during the test drive.
Automatic channel detection (ACD)
Automatically estimate the position of the cells in all networks
During a drive test, R&S®ROMES can use the measurement data and GPS data delivered by the R&S®TSMx to estimate the geographic position of the base stations. This calculation is fast and accurate. GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G NR, CDMA2000®/1xEVDO and TETRA networks are supported in parallel. This unique feature enables users to quickly generate a base station list for export or graphic display.
BTS position estimation
Dynamic Spectrum Sharing between 5G NR and LTE helps operators to rapidly deploy 5G NR and use their spectrum even more efficiently. This puts additional requirements on receivers. The R&S®TSMx6 receivers are ready for identifying and for measuring accurately on such carriers.
Network synchronization in the time domain becomes even more important with the introduction of 5G NR in TDD mode. Perfectly synchronized networks in the time domain show better performance because they do not suffer from overlapping uplink and downlink time slots. R&S®TSMx6 drive and walk test scanners are able to measure the time of arrival offset between the PPS pulse (or the internal receiver clock) and the received signal sequences from 5G NR and LTE to determine the quality of network synchronization.
A special task for network optimization purposes is to measure the time alignment error (TAE) of the network components. Filters, cables, antenna arrays and signal processing modules are potential sources for adding time delays, while the signal travels all its way from the baseband to the receiving antenna. In that case, an absolute and extremely precise signal arrival time stamp (UTC time with an accuracy of a few ns) is required, which is provided by R&S®TSMx6 scanners.
A deviation of the networks’ time base necessarily leads to a frequency drift. To measure the frequency accuracy of a 5G NR cell, the R&S®TSMx6 scanners provide the exact SSB center frequency (accuracy: a few Hz).
EMF (electromagnetic field strength) measurements are the basis to prove that the electromagnetic radiation is below the thresholds defined by the regulator. With the usage of new frequency bands and technical features like beamforming in 5G NR, EMF measurements become even more important. The R&S®TSMA6B controlled by an QualiPoc Android device is able to perform EMF measurements on 5G NR synchronization blocks for further country-specific extrapolation and total EMF calculation.
Get all information from the NB IoT network without a UE
R&S®TSMx scanners can measure NB-IoT/Cat NB1 and LTE-M / Cat M1 networks. NB-IoT/Cat NB1 and LTE-M / Cat M1 are 3GPP standards for connecting a huge number of things to the Internet (IoT). NB-IoT and LTE-M measurements can be run simultaneously with measurements of other technologies such as GSM, LTE, (W)CDMA (with the appropriate R&S®TSME option). For optimization or in case of troubleshooting, the impact of NB-IoT and LTE-M spectrum on adjacent GSM/LTE/(W)CDMA spectrum and vice versa can be validated.

Cellular vehicle-to-everything network testing
Cellular V2X is the new industry standard for vehicle connectivity to increase road safety and manage traffic more efficiently. It enables direct communication between vehicles, but also between vehicles and network infrastructure, so called road side units (RSUs). With the K36 option, the R&S®TSMx can measure the coverage and quality of the PC5 sidelink interface, to ensure a reliable V2X communication.

Terms & Conditions of the Prize Draw 10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes
1. The prize draw “10 years Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes” (herein referred to as “Draw”) is organized by Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Mühldorfstraße 15, 81671 Munich, Germany, Tel. +49 89 41 29 0 (herein referred to as “R&S).
2. All participators can register to the draw during January 01, 2020 to December 31, 2020 with their name, company name and business e-mail.
3. Participation is free of charge and not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.
4. The draw is only open to legal entities and only the legal entities are able to win the prizes. An individual person is not allowed to participate on its own name and its own account but as a representative of a legal entity filing the participation form in the name of and on behalf of the legal entity.
5. The prizes to win are 1 of 10 R&S®RTB2000 within the time frame January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020:

6. The draw takes place at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters, Muehldorstrasse 15, 81671 Munich. The winner of the prizes will be informed by e-mail within 5 (5) working days.
7. The authorized representative of the legal entity shall inform Rohde & Schwarz about the acceptance of the price. In case of the denial of the acceptance, or no answer within two (2) weeks, a new winner will be drawn. If no winner can be determined within four (4) weeks, the draw ends and the prize forfeit.
8. R&S’ employees and members of their families and also person being familiar with the process of the draw and members of their families are excluded from filling the participation form.
9. No cash equivalent or exchange of prizes is allowed. Prizes are non-transferable. All taxes, levies, duties, fees and other charges levied in the participant´s country shall be borne by the participant.
10. Personal data will be processed only for the purpose of this prize draw and deleted four (4) weeks after the draw, if not agreed otherwise.
11. Any Participant who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified by R&S from this Competition. In such cases, prizes can also be withdrawn retrospectively. In case a prize is withdrawn retrospectively due to the non-compliance with these Terms & Conditions, it shall be returned by the respective participant at his cost to R&S’ address mentioned under Nr.1 and a new winner will be drawn.
12. The participants cannot claim the prizes of this draw and no legal recourse is permitted in this respect.
13. The draw and any contractual relationship arising therefrom between R&S and the respective participant shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without any recourse to the conflict of laws. The courts of Munich, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction in case of any disputes arising directly or indirectly from the participation in this Competition.
