Network engineering, optimization & trouble shooting QualiPoc Android is the versatile, smartphone-based tool for optimization, troubleshooting and acceptance tasks.

The end use QoE was demonstrated at MWC2018 using the R&S®QualiPoc Android smartphone-based tester. Rohde & Schwarz is the industry reference when it comes to audio and video quality measurements in mobile networks and now the capability is extended to include IR.94 Video over LTE (ViLTE) video calls.

Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the 5G Site Testing Solution (5G STS) that provides the industry with an integrated package of proven test equipment that combines all the necessary functional, RF and signaling tests for 5G installation and troubleshooting.

Rohde & Schwarz has installed a 5G campus network to leverage the possibilities and advantages of Industry 4.0 at its plant in Teisnach, Germany. The industrial-grade private 5G network infrastructure is based on Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC). Both companies will participate in the testing of the 5G campus network using Rohde & Schwarz network testing equipment to optimize its operation and performance. Gaining experience and valuable insights into private 5G network operation in its own plant, and how to optimize deployment, was a major driver behind this project for Rohde & Schwarz.

The demystifying 5G video series discusses main topics related to 5G including requirements, timeline, frequency bands and waveforms. 5G, mobile network testing, drive test, walk test, dual connectivity, QualiPoc Android, ROMES The video explains the 5G-LTE dual connectivity, how a 5G phone accesses the 5G network and shows the measurement software to follow the process.

SmartMonitor retrieves test results and network information from QualiPoc Android probes in real time that enables unattended network-wide, non-stop service quality monitoring and optimization. This delivers insights into network quality just as the customer perceives it.

Optus has chosen to continue their mobile network benchmarking efforts with test equipment from Rohde & Schwarz. Through a competitive tender, Rohde & Schwarz has been selected by Optus to replace the existing 4G systems and to provide multiple 5G mobile benchmarking systems. These will measure end-to-end performance of mobile networks, in voice, video and data modes as well as for signal coverage. These measurements will enable continuous improvement by Optus to the quality of experience seen by their subscribers.

At the recent i14y Lab Summit 2022 in Berlin, Rohde & Schwarz has showcased as one of the lab’s partners its proven and powerful measurement instruments used to verify the conformance of O-RAN Radio Units and the end-to-end network performance. Led by Deutsche Telekom, the i14y Lab is an industry consortium aimed at accelerating network disaggregation and Open RAN by building a European and German ecosystem of vendors and system integrators. Through early stage collaboration with open lab partners and customers, Rohde & Schwarz is able to adopt its portfolio in accordance with new test requirements.

From smartphone-based solutions on the Qualipoc Android using the Qualcom X50 modem for site acceptance and cluster verification to R&S®TSMx scanners and R&S®ROMES software to test the coverage and operation of 5G for performance verification, propogation modelling and optimization.
