Downlink carrier aggregation with 2x2 MIMO, including 3GPP fading profiles, can now be performed using a single instrument, consuming less space and requiring less operation effort while enhancing test coverage.

Testing high power UE in LTE Band 14 for public safety presented at GSMA MWC 2014

World's first high-power user equipment (HPUE) testing has been demonstrated by Rohde & Schwarz and Elektrobit at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The R&S®CMW500 wideband radio communication tester performs all required transmitter and receiver tests, including the newly added test cases with higher output power of +31 dBm as intended for operation in Band 14 public safety networks.

This simplifies the test setup for performance tests with fading scenarios according to 3GPP RF test specifications for 2G, 3G and LTE mobile radio standards.
