Mobile device testing from design to production
Mobile device testing is a comprehensive process used to verify that wireless communication devices – such as smartphones and tablets – work properly, meet performance standards and comply with regulatory requirements. It involves several critical domains that ensure the device provides high-quality user experience and functions correctly within live networks.
5G networks are still being expanded and enhanced, but 6G is already in development and expected to be rolled out in the early 2030s. Compared to 5G, 6G is expected to have higher speed, lower latency and higher capacity.
There are also increasingly more AI applications for mobile devices, and 6G is expected to enable more and new AI capabilities. With massive MIMO (M-MIMO) and beamforming, it will be possible to run AI applications directly on the cloud. This is in contrast to 5G, which cannot process the large data volumes needed to support AI applications on the cloud. Mobile device testing must keep up with these new developments with innovative test and measurement solutions.
