FAQs from Rohde & Schwarz

Find the frequency range of a generator via remote instruction

Question

The signal generator come in different frequency ranges

Using a program is there a way to tell the frequency range of the SMB100A for example?

Answer

Indeed the Rohde & Schwarz generator can be equipped with different modules to the accommodate the application.
Since the module used may also influence the level range available as well as the frequency range
please use the instruction
*OPT?
Option identification query
Queries the options included in the instrument.

An example answer can be:
Since the module used may also influence the level range available as well as the frequency range
