The Global Certification Forum GCF and PTCRB certification organization have accepted first test case validations in various FR1 and LTE band combinations using the new Rohde & Schwarz R&S TS RRM 5G radio resource management (RRM) conformance test system. The Global Certification Forum (GCF) has approved the first two radio ressource management (RRM) conformance test cases for 5G FR2 frequencies, implemented on the R&S TS-RRM-NR 5G RRM conformance test system from Rohde & Schwarz. The test cases have been validated in seven FR2 and LTE band combinations. With this success, Rohde & Schwarz is leading the way in validated test cases for the technically challenging FR2 mmWave frequency bands.

Rohde & Schwarz and UNISOC recently conducted the new LTE UE category Cat-1bis conformance test cases. All validated test cases passed successfully on the DUT with the embedded UNISOC IVY series IoT chipset, thus fulfilling the GCF certification entry criteria.

The PTCRB certification organization has approved the first radio ressource management (RRM) conformance test cases for FR2 with two angles of arrival (2xAoA), using the R&S TS-RRM-NR 5G RRM conformance test system from Rohde & Schwarz. The test cases have been validated in multiple FR2 EN-DC band combinations, using the new R&S ATS1800M CATR based multi-AoA anechoic chamber.

The R&S TS-RRM-NR 5G conformance test system from Rohde & Schwarz is the first test platform to achieve test platform approval criteria (TPAC) from the GCF certification organization for 5G radio resource management (RRM) at FR2 frequencies. As a consequence, the first RRM conformance FR2 work items have reached “active” status, making them mandatory for mobile device certification. RRM FR2 test cases with one and two angles of arrival (1xAoA and 2xAoA) have been validated in multiple FR2 EN-DC band combinations.
