Webinar: Effective EMI debugging with oscilloscopes

Webinar: Effective EMI debugging with oscilloscopes

EMI debugging including localizing intermittent failures can be frustrating without an appropriate strategy. Discover in this webinar the fundamentals of practical EMI/EMC design and troubleshooting of electronic circuits, using state-of-the-art scopes to analyze your signals in both the time and frequency domains.

The use of voltage, current, and near-field probes, LISN, and antennas, will be reviewed combined with some tips for best practice with the latest generation of oscilloscopes. A practical demo using a DC/DC converter and digital electronics will be used to demonstrate the power of these techniques.

Impact of inductors saturation on EMI

Webinar: Impact of inductors saturation on EMI

This webinar is intended for engineers who work on power electronics designs.

Saturation effects of inductors can influence EMI and are therefore frequently to be avoided. On the other hand, allowing an inductor to operate in a state of saturation provides significant size and weight reduction gains.

This last webinar of the expert webinar series focuses on the impact of inductors saturation on EMI. Models and tools facilitating the selection of minimum size filter inductors meeting various specifications such as noise spectrum attenuation, stability, losses, size, and part count are presented, and applied to practical examples. Control chip features increasing the efficiency of switch-mode power supplies under low-load operation are discussed, and their impact on EMI and filter specifications and design is highlighted through experimental measurements of Differential Mode (DM) and Common Mode (CM) conducted EMI.

Poster: Design with EMI in mind. Test early. Test often

Solving EMI problems early in the design cycle is more cost-effective than solving them later. This is an iterative process of employing best practices and checking. Of course, it is a trade-off – and needs to be balanced against functionality and scheduling. But solving problems and verifying early helps reduce costs. This poster helps you to design with EMI in mind.
