The new air traffic control DF system solution provides accurate and reliable direction finding for both civil and military airports. The system enables ATC controllers to accurately determine which aircraft is transmitting on the frequency.

Brief description

The DF results are used to convey to the pilot the magnetic heading toward the airport (QDM) and can be shown on additional radar or map displays. This helps to reduce call-sign confusion and to identify responses from wrong aircraft.
