SMIQ-K8 generates all data and control sequences required to operate the signal generator.
Waveforms can be calculated and transmitted with the external PC software program WinIQSIM™ and stored in the non-volatile memory of the SMIQ. Once stored, waveforms can be recalled by the SMIQ without using WinIQSIM™. The SMIQB60 can provide arbitrary I/Q signals to drive the SMIQ's I/Q modulator.
The data is decoded by the DUT and forwarded to the R&S® SMIQ as clock and data signals. R&S® SMIQ synchronizes to the known PRBS sequence and counts the bit errors.
