- The Participants of the ITU Academy at Rohde & Schwarz in Munich
ITU Academy once again a guest at Rohde & Schwarz
In June 2018, Rohde & Schwarz again hosted the ITU Academy. The ITU Academy is a training initiative of the Geneva-based International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations organization that, among other activities, regulates the allocation and use of frequencies worldwide.
A total of 20 international representatives of governments, network operators, universities and regulatory authorities took part in a five-day workshop called "Implementation of radio monitoring systems according to ITU-R recommendations". Expert presentations conveyed theoretical knowledge, which was supplemented by practical exercises on the subject of spectrum monitoring.
Rohde & Schwarz has been a member of the ITU for more than 50 years. The workshops have been held at regular intervals at the company headquarters in Munich since 2013. The Munich-based electronics group is involved in the further development of international standards in various committees. The system solutions from Rohde & Schwarz meet all relevant ITU requirements and recommendations. Rohde & Schwarz has been successfully active in the field of spectrum monitoring for decades. The solutions for stationary and mobile systems ensure that regulatory authorities can carry out their work worldwide. This prevents interference from radio services or detects and then stops it.
